Summary

Morph showing a fictional transition from pre-fusion to post-fusion conformation of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, based on a superposition of the common C-alpha coordinates by Eric Martz (Image:Morf-6xr8-6xra-theis-cao.pdb).

The morph was created using the Image:Storymorph.spt Jmol scripts. The following domain definitions and timings of transitions were applied:

structures = [{1.1}, {1.2}]

helixN = {912-984}
helixC = {1128-1162}
base = {1076-1127}
core = {not helixN and not helixC and not base}

domains = [
[core],

[{base and chain="A"}, {1075 and chain="A"}],
[{helixN and chain="A"},{985:A}],
[{helixC and chain="A"}{1127:A}],

[{base and chain="B"}, {1075 and chain="B"}],
[{helixN and chain="B"},{985:B}],
[{helixC and chain="B"}{1127:B}],

[{base and chain="C"}, {1075 and chain="C"}],
[{helixN and chain="C"},{985:C}],
[{helixC and chain="C"}{1127:C}], ]

timing = [
