AD1 is a familial early-onset form of Alzheimer disease. It can be associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy. The principal clinical characteristics are recurrent cerebral and cerebellar hemorrhages, recurrent strokes, cerebral ischemia, cerebral infarction, and progressive mental deterioration.
