Function
CD23 or low affinity immunoglobulin epsilon Fc receptor or Fc fragment of IgE receptor II is a low affinity receptor of IgE and serves as an adhesion molecule involved in cell-cell interaction[1]. Human CD23 with IgE and Ca+2 ions (4gko).
Disease
CD23 may be involved in the proliferation of leukemic B cells[2].
Relevance
CD23 is considered important in the differentiation of chronic lymphocytic leukemia[3].
