Function
The DNA-containing capsid of canine parvovirus (CPV) contains 60 copies of the capsid protein related by icosahedral symmetry. See also Viral capsids.
Disease
The virus causes the parvo disease in dogs which is fatal if untreated.
Structural highlights
Each capsid protein participates in formation of 5-fold and 23-fold symmetry. Click here to see morph explaining this. Based on PDB entry 4dpv[1].
