Rabex5 stimulates nucleotide exchange on Rab5. Rabex can act as a ubiqiutin ligase. It forms a tight complex with rabaptin which augments its exchange activity. The rabex5-rabaptin complex is critical to endosomal fusion. Structural highlights The rabapin helix packs against the Rasbex5 forming a 3-helix bundle.
