TCS belongs to the family of sesquiterpene syntases which cyclize the acyclic farnesyl diphosphate to a sesquiterpene. TCS contains metal ion-binding motif. Structural highlights The active site of TCS contains diphosphate, the competitive inhibitor benzyl-diethylethanaminium and Mg+2 ions.
