Represses the transcription of the transcriptional activator RamA and, thereby, leads to repression of the expression of the efflux pump subunits AcrA and AcrB, and TolC (PubMed:18443112, PubMed:22948865, PubMed:23800819, PubMed:30655545). Acts by binding directly to the promoter region of the ramA gene (PubMed:22123696, PubMed:22948865, PubMed:23800819).
