CASP is the biannual, worldwide competition and evaluation of protein structure prediction methods. ''CASP'' stands for '''''C'''ritical '''A'''ssessment of protein '''S'''tructure '''P'''rediction''<ref>[http://predictioncenter.org/ Protein Structure Prediction Center].</ref>
CASP was founded by John Moult, Jan T. Pedersen, Richard Judson, and Krzysztof Fidelis.
The first competition was in 1994<ref name="casp1">PMID: 8710822</ref>.
