[[Angiotensin Converting Enzyme]] (ACE) catalyzes the conversion of the decapeptide angiostensin I to the octapeptide angiostensin II.  It participates in the body’s rennin-angiostetin system which mediates extracellular volumes. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative ACE, ''i.e.'' the crystal structure of human Angiotensin Converting Enzyme  ([[2iul]]).
