[[Aerolysin]] (Aer) is a channel-forming toxin from ''Aeromonas hydrophyla''. It uses GPI-anchored proteins on the cell surface as receptors. Following binding it forms heptamers which insert into the cell membrane producing channels thus causing cell death.
