Forms anion-selective channels with relatively low conductance and an order of permeabilities: nitrate>iodide>chlroride>>aspartate=glutamate=gluconate (PubMed:22311122). Can release ATP upon activation through phosphorylation or cleavage at C-terminus (PubMed:32238926).
