The Na,K-ATPase or sodium pump is an integral membrane protein found in the plasma membrane of virtually all animal cells. 
The sodium pump consists of 10 transmembrane segments which make up the  <b> α subunit </b>  and a single transmembrane <b> β  subunit </b>.
