3D structures of outer surface protein
Outer surface proteins (Osp) are produced by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme disease. OspA and OspB are upregulated when the bacteria enter the tick. OspA contributes to the colonization of the gut by the bacteria. OspC is a major antigen on the surface of the Lyme disease spirochetes when it is being transmitted to humans. For more details on OspA see OspA. For more details on OspB see Outer surface protein B (OspB) of the Lyme disease spirochete bacterium. For more details on OspC see OspC and Binding.
