The Mycobacterium tuberculosis rmlC gene encodes dTDP-4-keto-6-deoxyglucose epimerase, the third enzyme in the M. tuberculosis dTDP-L-rhamnose pathway which is essential for mycobacterial cell-wall synthesis.
