FunctionProgesterone receptor (PR) binds to DNA and inhibits transcription. It is nuclear receptor. The inhibition terminates when progesterone binds to PR. The ovarian steroid progesterone which is essential for breast development and reproductive behavior, is mediated by PR[1].
