Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxegenase – RuBisCO (RBCD) catalyzes the first step in carbon fixation. RBCD carboxylates or oxygenates ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate with CO2 or O2. RBCD usually consists of a large chain (LSMT – large subunit methyltrasferase) and small chain. 2-carboxylarabinitol-1,5-bisphosphate (2-CABP) is an inhibitor of RCBD.
