The bacteriophage repressor controls the genetic switch determining the lytic cycle following phage infection. It competes with the Cro protein which selects for the lysogenic cycle.[1] Phage 434 repressor cI protein with DNA operator site OR3 (1per). [2] For details see Lambda repressor.
