Function
BLBI1_SERMA Class B beta-lactamase which confers resistance to the beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins, cephalosporins and carbapenems (PubMed:10898670, PubMed:29485857, PubMed:8141584). Acts via hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring (PubMed:10898670, PubMed:15788415). Has penicillin-, cephalosporin- and carbapenem-hydrolyzing activities (PubMed:10898670, PubMed:15788415, PubMed:15892033). Has endoribonuclease activity, cleaving substrate RNAs preferentially between U/C and A, in vitro (PubMed:33126240).[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
