Structure of Ubiquitin activating enzyme (Uba1) in complex with ubiquitin and TAK-243

Structural highlights

5tr4 is a 4 chain structure with sequence from Bos taurus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae S288C. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 2.2Å
Ligands:61T
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

UBA1_YEAST Activates ubiquitin by first adenylating its C-terminal glycine residue with ATP, and thereafter linking this residue to the side chain of a cysteine residue in E1, yielding an ubiquitin-E1 thioester and free AMP.
