Function
Topoisomerase binding protein or DNA topoisomerase 2-binding protein 1 (TopBP1) interacts with the C-terminal of topoisomerase II beta. TopBP1 is required for DNA replication. It binds double-stranded DNA breaks and nicks and plays a role in rescuing stalled DNA replication forks[1].
Structural highlights
TopBP1 contains BRCT domains which are ca. 100 amino acid long tandem repeat which bind phosphor-peptides. The [2].
