INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome, SMART Teams -- just follow these easy steps to begin creating your own Protopedia pages

  • this page is a "template" -- your job is to replace all of the default text with the information relevant to your particular project.
  • first step -- create your own "sandbox" page -- this is place where you can preview your work as you go along without having to worry about anyone else seeing it. It's important to you pick an sandbox that no one else is using yet!
  • [ figure out simple instructions ]
  • second step -- click "edit this page" at the top, and the editing interface will appear; now, all you need to do is select all of the text in the large textarea below. Then, use the "Copy" command to move all of the text to the clipboard.
  • third step -- we need to move this text to your newly created Sandbox. Same set of steps, but now you hit 'paste'. then you hit "save changes", and that's it!
  • you're done -- now you can begin generating your page. Oh, and don't forget to delete these instructions!!!

Happy Wiki-ing!

MSOE Center for BioMolecular Modeling and SMART Teams

SMART Teams (Students Modeling A Research Topic) is a science outreach program developed by the MSOE Center for BioMolecular Modeling. In this program, teams of high school students work with a local resarch lab to design and build a physical model of a protein that is being investigated by the lab. The goal of the SMART Team program is to introduce students to the real world of science --- as it exists in a local research lab. The development of this program was supported by grants from the NIH-NCRR SEPA program (Science Education Partnership Award) and an HHMI Precollege Science Education Award. For more information about this program, visit the CBM web site at www.rpc.msoe.edu/cbm .
