Required for disruption of the parasitophorous vacuole formed following T.gondii infection and subsequent killing of the parasite. Mediates resistance to C.trachomatis infection by targeting bacterial inclusions to autophagosomes for subsequent lysosomal destruction.[1][2][3][4]
