Structural highlights
FunctionMSL2_ARATH Mechanosensitive channel that opens in response to stretch forces in the membrane lipid bilayer (By similarity). Controls plastid size, shape, and perhaps division during normal plant development by altering ion flux in response to changes in membrane tension. Acts as a component of the chloroplast division machinery.[1] [2] GFP_AEQVI Energy-transfer acceptor. Its role is to transduce the blue chemiluminescence of the protein aequorin into green fluorescent light by energy transfer. Fluoresces in vivo upon receiving energy from the Ca(2+)-activated photoprotein aequorin. References
