Structural highlights
FunctionNOMT_NARAP 4'-O-methyltransferase converting norbelladine to 4'-O-methylnorbelladine. 4'-O-methylnorbelladine is a precursor to all Amaryllidaceae alkaloids such as galanthamine, lycorine and haemanthamine, and including haemanthamine- and crinamine-type alkaloids, promising anticancer agents. Can use norbelladine, N-methylnorbelladine and dopamine as substrate, but not caffeic acid, vanillin, 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and tyramine.[1] References
