Function
Borealin (BOR) is a member of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) which includes survivin and INCENP. It is required for the stability of the bipolar mitotic spindle[1].
Relevance
Borealin plays a key role in liver development, regeneration and tumorigenesis and may be a potential target for related liver diseases[2].
Structural highlights
The interactions between BOR, survivin and INCENP involve a set of hydrophobic interactions formed by the three-helix bundle and links by electrostatic interactions[3].
