CHS condenses p-coumaroyl-CoA and three malonyl-CoA to produce the polyketide naringenin . Relevance The CHS biosynthesis product naringenin has inhibitory activity on a Cyt P450 isoform which can have carcinogenic effect and has significant antioxidant properties.
