Porin
Porin is a membrane protein found on the membranes of bacteria.

Structure
Porin is made of 18 beta strands surrounding a hydrophilic pore, which is charged and polar. The surface of porin is hydrophobic, because it interacts with neighboring alkane chains. In another of the protein, the hydrophilic pore is visible in the porin. The can be seen here in purple.
