Function

NCAP_BDV1 Encapsidates the genome, protecting it from nucleases. The encapsidated genomic RNA is termed the NC and serves as template for transcription and replication. Targets viral NC to the nucleus. Could be involved in the transport of nucleoprotein particles from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. The nuclear export signal is masked by the interaction with the P protein.[1]
