Summary

Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (abbreviated GAP3DH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis and thus serves to break down glucose for energy and carbon molecules. In addition to this long-established metabolic function, GAPDH has recently been implicated in several non-metabolic processes, including transcription activation, and initiation of apoptosis in mammalian cells. In an anaerobic bacterium, Clostridium pasteurianum ATCC6013 this enzyme plays a crucial role in integrating the glycerol metabolic pathway to glycolysis. This structure was developed using MODELLER v10.4 and refined with GalaxyRefine as part of "Winter INternship in BIOinformatics and Computational Biology (WINBIOCB) - 2022" Internship hosted by Mr. Karan Kumar, Prime Minister's Research Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam, India. Manuscript Title: Computational investigations in inhibition of alcohol/aldehyde dehydrogenase in lignocellulosic hydrolysates Authors: Karan Kumar, Azeeza Siddiqa.
