Ribosomal protein S21 (RPS21) is one of the 21 proteins which belong to the 30S small subunit of the bacterial ribosome or the 30 proteins which belong to the 40S small subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome. It is found only in eubacteria, plant chloroplasts and mammalian mitochondria. It is involved in the initiation of polypeptide synthesis[1].
