This page is meant to be a proof-of-concept effort to make a Proteopedia page with features comparable to the animated, FLASH-based HIV virus done by David Goodsell and hosted at the RCSB.

This page was made with all original components all made using Jmol and image processing software.

This page is not meant to take anything away from the wonderful animated HIV virion done by David Goodsell. (Just in case things have moved around again, noting in December 2019 the HIV interactive animation was supposed to be able to be found via http://pdb101.rcsb.org/learn/interactive-animations . The idea was simply to make something comparable using Jmol and wiki-text so that in addition to showing the components, one could rotate the protein components and choose to display them in other ways. At the same time, it would show what is possible within Proteopedia using Jmol. Interactive Flash is allowed within Proteopedia (see Proteopedia:Cookbook);however, manhy browsers are lessening support in favor of html5 and having the molecules in Jmol allows the user much more interaction and control over their display.
