Solution structure of the N-terminal Domain I of mouse transcription elongation factor S-II protein 3

Structural highlights

1wjt is a 1 chain structure with sequence from Mus musculus. Full experimental information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:Solution NMR
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT, TOPSAN

Function

TCEA3_MOUSE Necessary for efficient RNA polymerase II transcription elongation past template-encoded arresting sites. The arresting sites in DNA have the property of trapping a certain fraction of elongating RNA polymerases that pass through, resulting in locked ternary complexes. Cleavage of the nascent transcript by S-II allows the resumption of elongation from the new 3'-terminus.
