Linear interpolation morph created by User:Frieda S. Reichsman and User:Eric Martz in August, 2006, between chain B from 1hga (deoxy) and chain X (originally B) from 1hho (oxy). Chain X was aligned to chain B usingt three atoms in the heme by User:Frieda S. Reichsman. The heme carboxys and one carbon (CBD, CGD, O1D, O2D, CBA, CGA, CBB) in chain B were replaced with those in chain X to avoid spurious movements. The molecular oxygen was removed from chain X for morphing, then re-inserted into the final model. Morphing added 8 interpolated models between the initial and final models, making 10 models total. For more on methods, see Morphs.
